Russia Evaluates Possibility of Prisoner Exchange with Ukraine in «All for All» Format, Deputy Says

In Russia, the possibility of exchanging prisoners with Ukraine in the «all for all» format has been evaluated. The proposed exchange of prisoners in the «all for all» format by Ukraine is not considered equivalent, as there are more Ukrainian military personnel in Russian captivity than there are Russian military personnel in Ukraine. This statement was made by State Duma deputy Shamsail Saraliev in his Telegram channel.

Despite this, the deputy overall positively assessed Ukraine’s willingness to conduct an exchange and, in turn, proposed another exchange scheme — all Russian prisoners for an equal number of Ukrainian prisoners. «As long as the fighting continues, this exchange option will be the most optimal and humane for both sides. Russia will take all of our fighters from Ukrainian captivity, in exchange we will give back the same number of Ukrainian prisoners of war», - Saraliev stated.



He added that as of today, April 15, Russia is ready to hand over 500 prisoners to Kiev. Earlier, Pope Francis also proposed exchanging prisoners in the «all for all» format for Easter. «May the risen Christ give hope to people suffering from violence and conflicts in different parts of the world», - he said.
