Moscow Traffic Restrictions Announced for Victory Day Parade Rehearsals

In the heart of Moscow, traffic will be temporarily restricted on April 26, May 2, and May 5 due to rehearsals for the Victory Day parade, the city’s transportation department announced. Sections of Volgogradsky Prospekt, the Garden Ring, and Taganskaya Square will be closed to traffic on April 26 and May 2 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM, as well as on May 5 from 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Restrictions will also be in place on Moscow’s central embankments on April 26 and May 2 from 5:30 PM, as well as on May 5 from 5:30 AM until the end of the events. Traffic will be closed again on sections of the Garden Ring and Volgogradsky Prospekt on April 26 and May 2 from 11:30 PM, and on May 5 from 10:00 AM; as well as on the Garden Ring, Novy Arbat, and Bolshoy Kamenny Bridge on April 26 and May 2 from 10:30 PM. In the area of Taganskaya Square, there will be two-way traffic from 4:30 PM on April 26 until 3:00 AM on April 27, from 4:30 PM on May 2 until 3:00 AM on May 3, and from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM on May 5. The department also added that parking will be prohibited on these sections from April 25 to April 27 and from May 1 to May 9.



In 2024, it will be 79 years since Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War. Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu revealed that over 9,000 people, 75 units of military equipment, and aircraft will participate in the Victory Day parade on Red Square. The military equipment arrived in Moscow on April 18. The general rehearsal for the parade in Moscow will take place on May 5.
