Explosions were heard in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia, under Ukrainian control, as reported by the head of the local military administration Ivan Fedorov in a Telegram channel. Fedorov wrote about the explosions around 3:00 am Moscow time. At that time, air raid sirens were sounding in the city. Fedorov specified that there were casualties. Zaporizhzhia region became part of Russia following a referendum held in September 2022. The city of Zaporizhzhia remains under the control of Ukrainian forces.

Earlier explosions were also heard in Dnipro and Kharkiv. Air raid alerts were issued in Kharkiv, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In the latter, the sirens are still sounding. The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasizes that strikes are only being carried out on military and energy targets in Ukraine and related infrastructure.

The situation in Ukraine continues to escalate, with reports of ongoing violence and attacks in various regions. The conflict between Ukrainian forces and Russian troops shows no signs of abating, despite international efforts to negotiate a peaceful resolution. The impact of the conflict is being felt not only in Ukraine but also in neighboring countries and beyond, as the humanitarian crisis worsens and the death toll continues to rise. The international community remains deeply concerned about the situation and calls for an immediate ceasefire to prevent further loss of life and destruction.
