Rosbank, the Russian bank, will change its chairman for the second time in the past year and a half. After receiving approval from the Central Bank, Nikolay Sidorov, currently a member of Rosbank’s board of directors, will assume the position, according to the bank’s statement to RBC. Sidorov will replace Natalia Voevodina, who took over as chairman of Rosbank in the fall of 2022. With her appointment, Voevodina became the first woman to lead the board of one of Russia’s systemically important banks. The Central Bank includes Sberbank, VTB, Tinkoff Bank, Raiffeisenbank, Alfa-Bank, and others in this category.

«Natasha's task was to ensure business stability and set the bank on a new development trajectory after the change in share capital and new external challenges. Natalia successfully coped with the task. The Board of Directors expressed gratitude to Natalia for her work and contribution to the bank’s development», - the Rosbank press service said in a statement. The decision to appoint Sidorov at Rosbank was explained by the fact that «new competitive challenges are emerging for the country’s banking sector», - and the response to them should come from a «well-known market financier and top manager with over 20 years of experience in the banking and insurance industries». «Nikolay Sidorov’s many years of experience in the Russian market and active involvement in Rosbank’s work as a member of the board of directors will ensure a smooth transition to a new stage of the bank’s development», - the bank’s statement said.

According to an RBC source at Rosbank, Voevodina is leaving the bank after working there for over five years. In 2018, she became the director of operations, in 2019 she joined the board of directors and oversaw IT and operational activities. In June 2022, she was appointed deputy chairman of the board, and in October of the same year, it was announced that she would become the chairman. In an interview with RBC in December 2022, Voevodina referred to her appointment as evidence that even after a change in shareholder (Vladimir Potanin’s Interros), Rosbank continues to develop and strengthen its position in the market.
