During the period from October 2023 to March 2024, the total volume of gas supplies to the domestic market by Gazprom, according to preliminary data, reached a record level, exceeding the values of the previous year by approximately 5%, the company reported in a Telegram channel. In the past heating season, maximum daily fuel deliveries were set twice: on January 12th — 1788.3 million cubic meters, and on January 13th — 1814.7 million cubic meters. It is noted that the previous record figure was 1786.8 million cubic meters of gas, which was recorded on January 30, 2014. The company pointed out that the first half of January saw a peak in abnormal cold weather: on January 12th, the average temperature in the Unified Gas Supply System zone dropped to minus 14.3 degrees Celsius, and on January 13th, it dropped to minus 19.8 degrees Celsius.

Historical maximums were also reached in the volumes of gas supplies to the external market, Gazprom stated, noting that during the autumn-winter period, there was an increased demand from foreign consumers, particularly from China and Uzbekistan. For the period from November to February, record values for daily fuel deliveries via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline to China were updated eleven times. The company did not provide exact figures. As part of preparations for the upcoming heating season, Gazprom’s management instructed to create an operational gas reserve in underground storage facilities (USFs) totaling 73.034 billion cubic meters, which will be a new historical maximum (for the previous period, the company formed a reserve of 72.842 billion cubic meters). The potential maximum daily production capacity of the storage facilities will remain at the level of the previous year — 858.8 million cubic meters. This was a new record at the time.

«In the USFs on the territory of Belarus, the operational gas reserve will amount to 1.14 billion cubic meters (a new maximum for the republic), and in the USFs on the territory of Armenia — 0.107 billion cubic meters», - the company’s statement said.
