Climate scientist Kiselyov has announced a doubling of the number of weather anomalies in Russia Over the past few years, according to data from Roshydromet, the number of weather anomalies in Russia has doubled. This was reported to «Lenta.ru» by the leading scientific researcher of the A.I. Voeikov Main Geophysical Observatory, author of the book «Climate Paradoxes» Andrey Kiselyov.

According to him, the trend of increasing the number of weather anomalies will continue. Kiselyov emphasized that Russia has areas with different climatic conditions, so in some parts of the country this may manifest as heavy rains, while in others it may be drought or hurricanes.

The climatologist added that in recent times, heat waves have been observed in several Russian regions — periods when the air temperature on a certain territory exceeds the climatic norm by several degrees for a minimum of five days, remaining above standard indicators even at night. A similar phenomenon led to the anomalous heat of 2010.

«Heat waves of such strength as in 2010 are recorded several times a century. It is impossible to say for sure whether such an event should be expected this season, as it is practically impossible to predict each individual event», - Kiselyov said.

Earlier, Russia was predicted to have the hottest summer in history. According to experts' forecasts, in June the temperature may exceed the climatic norm by seven degrees. Thus, in Moscow, Tver, Kaluga, and Kaliningrad, the mercury could reach 35 degrees. In turn, the scientific director
