On April 13th, an unidentified man threw a Molotov cocktail near the government building of the Vladimir region. Governor Alexander Avdeev stated in a telegram channel that the man’s target was not a specific car or official, but rather he was influenced by scammers. Avdeev wrote, «The arsonist was under the influence of scammers (presumably from the Ukrainian CIPO (Center for Information-Psychological Operations), the goal was to provoke against the authorities in general». The deceiving instigators acted under the guise of law enforcement officers, according to the governor. Avdeev believes that provocateurs persuade people to take out loans, and then «promise debt forgiveness for setting fire to an administrative building».
Earlier, Mash reported that the suspected arsonist’s target was Vice Governor Konstantin Baranov. On April 13th, he was at work in the regional administration building. No one was injured as a result of the incident. «The man tried to flee but was detained by the officers of the FSB of Russia in the Vladimir region and the National Guard. The investigation of the criminal case is ongoing», - the department said.
