Moscow Braces for Below-Normal Temperatures and Frost, Meteorologists Warn of Chilly Weekend Ahead

In the coming days, temperatures in the Moscow region are expected to be 4−5 degrees Celsius below the climatic norm, with the possibility of frost at night, according to a forecast published on the Hydrometeorological Center website. «The average daily temperature values will lag behind the climatic norm by 4−5°. Frost is possible at night. Clouds will often cover the sky, limiting the daytime warming of the air», - the forecast stated. Additionally, on Sunday, May 5, meteorologists predict rain in Moscow. The air temperature in Moscow and the region will drop to zero and in some places to minus one on the night of May 4. The following night will be even colder, dropping to minus three degrees. On the night of May 8, a drop to minus one degree Celsius is also possible.



In the coming days, Moscow will be windy, with speeds ranging from 5 to 11 meters per second, and gusts up to 15 meters per second in some areas. «On Thursday and Friday, the weather will be controlled by a well-defined anticyclone. Therefore, variable cloudiness with frequent clearings and no precipitation is expected», - said Roman Vilfand, head of the Hydrometeorological Center, in an interview with TASS. The cold weather is expected to continue into the weekend, with temperatures remaining below the norm and the possibility of frost at night. Residents are advised to take precautions and dress warmly to protect against the chilly temperatures. The weather conditions are expected to gradually improve next week, with temperatures returning closer to the seasonal average.
